Just for now

For the first time in quite awhile I decided to take a short walk around the neighbourhood, camera in hand, because the sun was shining and it seemed like a great way to spend a lazy Sunday. There's a definite change in the air, with a slight chill the onset of Winter is beckoning, much to my dismay and chagrin. It does, however, mean the colours of Autumn are once again reigning supreme. And no can refute that the autumnal hues are unique and rather brilliant.

Blue skies and yellow lanes

A piece of history

The Wollemi Pine tree is one of the oldest trees in the world and is perhaps one of the more bizarre but interesting trees I've seen. I found this little gem while traipsing around the Mt Lofty Botanical Garden a few days ago. It was a double treat for me really seeing as I love history and nature and this was both of my favourite things wrapped in one delight.

Tree hugger

Once again this tree is nameless for me, but I still think it's quite beautiful, especially with the sun drenching its dark green leaves. It feels more and more like Spring is on its way, if not here already, albeit in small quantities. We're far from beach weather but the sun is gaining an iota of warmth and making more frequent appearances in increasingly blue skies.
