Silverton take two
I've already posted about Silverton before. It's one of my favourite spots in Australia, because to me it really does represent the isolation and vastness of the Australian outback.

Silverton
Silverton is an oasis in the middle of the Australian outback. It's a ghost town not far from Broken Hill in western New South Wales. My parents are from Broken Hill and we visited my Grandma who still lives there, back in Summer and we took a bit of a day trip over to Silverton. It's a quirky and very cute little town or village and was a great day.

A glass rainbow
These were taken at a small cafe in Silverton, near Broken Hill in western NSW. It was a really cool cafe with lots of bits and bobs around the place. There were old bottles and jars, vintage dolls and photos and broken up pieces of porcelain. It was a veritable treasure trove of vintage treasures and delights and I had a ball just wondering around each of the little rooms (the cafe was in an old cottage). The food was also pretty good, they have the best homemade scones and milkshakes! Was a great summer day with the family.

You're such an ass
Last summer my family and I went to visit my Grandma who lives in Broken Hill. I've showed some photos of the beautiful Silver City in another post. While we were there we took a quick trip to Silverton, a virtual ghost town about fifteen minutes from Broken Hill. I absolutely love the place though. It's beautiful and dusty and full of old world charm and character wherever you turn. A lot of movies and fashion shoots have been set in Silverton. It's an iconic Australian town. These donkeys were just aimlessly wondering around the town together. They were really cute and were clearly used to humans because they came up to us and were angling for a pat. One of the poor donkeys was heavily pregnant, and this was in the middle of summer and the sun was beating down. They were extremely placid and were a lovely surprise on our way out of town.
