Lazy summer afternoons

A winery set amidst wetlands complete with swans, native trees and flowers, sunshine and amazing food. Quite possibly a perfect summer afternoon.

River reeds & trees

When I was home last my sister, my Dad and I wandered down to the river and I took some photos of the reeds and trees that line the riverbank. They're beautiful in their own right and the sight of the winding trajectory of the river will always calms me and remind me of the simple beauty in life.

A forest of yellow

I'm not sure what kind of trees these are really, as per usual, but I found them absolutely lovely. They injected the landscape with a bit of colour and brightened up my day with their cheery yellow leaves and mossy bark.

Belair National Park

Today I ventured up to Belair National Park in the Adelaide Hills to take some more photos of beautiful native vegetation. It was a grey and very wintery day and I think even the leaves were shivering in the breeze. I'm much more a fan of taking photos of nature and plants in summer with a searing sun and clear blue skies. But to get a taste of nature I must extricate myself from my comfort zone and experience some of Adelaide's beautiful natural surrounds. Here's what I saw and snapped while trekking through the National Park.

Shadows of a cloudy day

These photos were taken a few weeks ago when it was still Autumn. I'm not sure I ever thought I'd been wishing it was Autumn but when you're in the midst of continual dreary and cold days, Autumn seems like sunshiny heaven. But enough complaining, there was a speck of sun peeking through a dense mass of clouds on this particular day and so I figured it was the perfect opportunity for a stroll and some photos of this beautiful tree and it's strange flowers or pods.
