The season to be jolly

I've been so incredibly idle with my posts, but I promise to make up for it over the next month or so. I've been back home over Christmas, for about ten days so there was ample opportunity for me to snap away to my hearts content. It was lovely. Plus, I adore the weather at this time of year with all the sunshine and blue skies. I find it endlessly inspiring and it means my camera(s) rarely leave my side, which I'm sure my family can well and truly attest to. My amazing sister gave me a Lomo Action Sampler for Christmas which I've been testing out. I'm yet to develop or even use the first roll of film, so the results shall definitely be interesting and I'm sure they'll be featuring on here in the not so distant future. And my very own Diana+ camera is on its way to my doorstep and shall be trialled and adored as soon as I get my hands on it, with the photos put up here in due time. But anyway, I digress. Here is a bit of a snapshot of my last couple of weeks. A happy New Year to all.

Summer road trip

I've been a bit slack lately with my rather sporadic posts. This is mostly because I've been on holidays for the last week or so to a truly stunning part of Australia. I went on a road trip with some friends to Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. We were there for about six days in total and we got to see some amazing scenery and landscapes. It was a dream come true considering my innate love of nature. The Mornington Peninsula is mostly renowned for its beaches, and I definitely discovered why. They're absolutely amazing and are obviously one of the reasons Australia has a reputation for its stunning beaches. We also got to stay in Melbourne for a couple of days, which is always a treat. I adore Melbourne, which I think I've already mentioned once or twice on here. I find it a cultural treasure trove of a city and it's endlessly inspiring. I would recommend that everyone should visit Melbourne at least once in their lifetime. And now I think I may have to add the Mornington Peninsula to that recommendation.

I shall be posting more photos up from this trip, these are definitely just a taste given how many photos I took while away.

It's gonna be a bright sunshiny day...

I went for a bit of a jaunt around the neighbourhood as I have much free time on my hands these days. It was a bit of a difference from the last time I brought my camera along way back in Autumn when sunshine and flowers were become rather scarce. Today was a day full of sunshine, warmth and the sweet smell of flowers in the air.

Orange blossom

Orange blossom is one of my absolute favourite scents. It permeates everything and is so deliciously sweet and intoxicating one cannot help but fall in love with it. There are quite a lot of orange orchards at home, so I love driving around with the windows down and relishing in the sweet, hazy smell of orange blossom. It's matched only by jasmine and palonia tree flowers, and the combination of all three is unparalleled.
